Gordon Dean | What We Do

Hi there and heads up: you're looking at a very old web page!  Current info is here: http://GrantWritingUSA.com.  Thanks!

Way back in the good old days - say, the mid-1990's - the dominant strategy in the grants business was to chase grants like a cash starved loon. Throw enough noodles on the wall and see what sticks, right? And who cared what happened after the money rolled in. Outside of your immediate jurisdiction and circles of influence, nobody seemed overly concerned with how effectively you managed their money.

Today, it's a whole new game. Even the ultimate grants gravy train, the United Way, now widely requires its grant recipients to clearly state in advance exactly what they will do, how they will do it, how every penny will be spent and how accountability outcomes will be monitored, measured, and reported.

Now throw on top of that the all-too-small world we've become in the past few years. Everybody sees everything. Your donors are interconnected, and they're talking to each other about you and about how good you are at presenting yourself, making your case, and keeping a promise.

In a word, the days of running a half-baked outfit on someone else's money are over.

That's why it's important to find a firm that's as adept at crafting a targeted message for grant makers, as it is in ensuring you are organizationally competitive in a world where savvy donors know your business as well or better than you.

An interconnected world demands that all of your strategic messages and operational methods work together to create a single, consistent perception of excellence and accountability.

That's where we come in. It's what we do.

Gordon Dean | Clients

Some of the West's biggest guns turn to Gordon Dean: The Office of the Lieutenant Governor of the State of Nevada, the Greater Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Greater New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, and Nevada Partners, Inc. - just to name a few.

We also regularly partner with the Nevada Department of Public Safety and recently partnered with the California Department of Motor Vehicles to deliver our way-cool, two-day grants workshop.

Gordon Dean | Case Study

We built and financed Southern Nevada's first federally-funded, faith-based social service program on behalf of our client, the Greater New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. In less than one year GNJ realized more the $700,000 in new funding as a direct result of our program development expertise and fundraising efforts.

Today, GNJ operates an outstanding re-employment and job training program that helps dozens of citizens become gainfully employed and self-sufficient each year.

That's the kind of work we love. Big task. Challenging. Creative. Serving. Changing lives. Saving lives.

It's who we are. It's what we do.

Can we do some for you?
